Working Meeting of the National Battery Swap Standard Drafting Group Held in Xiamen

The working meeting of the drafting group of national battery swap standards for pure electric commercial vehicles and pure electric passenger vehicles was held from July 26 to 29 in Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province. It was attended by more than 160 experts from over 40 institutions and enterprises including the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization, automobile manufacturers, EV battery manufacturers, battery swap station operators and spare parts suppliers, who discussed the industrial standards for interchangeability of battery swap systems and other aspects of industrial standards for pure electric commercial and passenger vehicles.

Up to now, the Electric Vehicle Sub-committee of the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization (SAC/TC114/SC27) has completed the planning of national battery swap compatibility standard system for pure electric passenger and commercial vehicles, and is now drafting the industrial standards for interchangeability of on-board battery swap systems.


The discussion highlighted the drafting of the On-board Battery Swap Systems for Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles (QC/T), the Universal Platforms for Battery Swap of Pure Electric Passenger Vehicles (QC/T), the Interchangeability of On-board Battery Swap Systems of Pure Electric Commercial Vehicles (QC/T), among others.


Liu Guibin, chief engineer of the Standard Institute of China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd., said: "The drafting of the standards for battery swap is urgent and of heavy task, and it is a pressing need of the whole industry. We hope that all relevant parties can reach a consensus through joint efforts in order to promote the implementation of battery swap standards and the healthy development of the battery swap industry.”

Under the guidance of the Electric Vehicle Sub-committee of the National Technical Committee of Auto Standardization, Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology Ltd. (CAES), China Automotive Technology and Research Center and other institutions and enterprises participated in the drafting work. During the meeting, some delegates also visited the EVOGO smart battery swap station in Xiamen.
