CATL Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Guizhou

On October 28, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Guizhou Provincial People’s Government. Cai Chaolin, Vice Governor of Guizhou Province, Ma Ningyu, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guiyang Committee and Acting Mayor, Jiang Li, Board Secretary of CATL and Qu Tao, Co-Head of Corporate Planning Department of CATL, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties respectively. Shen Yiqin, Secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, Li Bingjun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Governor, and Robin Zeng, Chairman of CATL, witnessed the signing of the agreement. 


Shen Yiqin, Secretary of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, said: “The in-depth cooperation between Guizhou and CATL meets the requirements of high-quality development, and is an active exploration and beneficial practice to build a green and low-carbon circular industrial system based on the goal of carbon emissions peaking and carbon neutrality. We hope that the two parties will take the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement as a new starting point, so as to promote the early implementation and effectiveness of cooperation. Guizhou will make every effort to create a first-class business environment with well-organized resources and supporting services, so that CATL can invest in Guizhou and develop business with ease smoothly.”


Robin Zeng, Chairman of CATL, said: “Thanks for Guizhou's strong support to CATL. Guizhou's rich resources and industrial foundation are highly compatible with CATL's technological and manufacturing advantages. CATL will deeply develop its business in Guizhou, seize the huge industrial opportunities from carbon emission peaking and carbon neutrality, go all out to make the new energy industry bigger and stronger, and make contributions to Guizhou's high-quality development.”


In the future, CATL will work with Guizhou to facilitate the local new energy industry to complement, extend and strengthen the industry chain, give full play to the advantages of leading enterprises in market, technology and talent, and work with all parties to build a whole industry chain system from lithium-ion batteries, upstream phosphorus and fluorine chemicals and battery materials, to downstream market applications and battery recycling.
