The cooperation aims to explore opportunities supporting the transition towards more sustainable road
freight transportation across Europe.
Hanover, 14. September 2026 –Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and DHL Group today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further strengthen their strategic cooperation and explore opportunities supporting the decarbonisation of logistics.
Building on the global MoU signed by CATL and DHL Group in September 2024, the new agreement establishes a more focused framework for cooperation on the electrification and decarbonization of European road freight.
As part of the cooperation, CATL and DHL will combine their respective expertise and capabilities to support the transition towards more sustainable transport solutions.
A structured framework for Green Corridor electrification
Rather than focusing on a single technology or pilot the parties intend to explore areas of mutual interest that may support the transition towards low-emission logistics solutions.
The cooperation provides a framework for both companies to exchange expertise, share insights, and assess opportunities for collaboration across selected areas related to logistics, transportation and electrification.
The MoU identifies potential cooperation areas including corridor identification, electric vehicle OEM engagement, mobile and stationary charging infrastructure deployment, battery swapping pilot projects, and low- or zero-emision logistics in Europe.

An open ecosystem for freight electrification
While the MoU is signed between CATL and DHL Group, the transition towards more sustainable transport solutions requires collaboration across the broader transportation and logistics ecosystem.
CATL and DHL intend to exchange insights and explore opportunities for cooperation with relevant stakeholders where appropriate.
For charging and energy infrastructure, potential ecosystem contributors include QUIBO Energy (formerly SUNNIC), strategically backed by CATL and Xiaomi, and FleetBoost, a European provider and operator of flexible high-power charging and energy-storage solutions. Building on their joint development of the FleetBooster 20 and 40, which integrate CATL battery technology, they are jointly developing scalable mobile energy and charging solutions for European logistics and Green Freight Corridor applications. For battery-swapping applications, the ecosystem may also include Swaptopus, the joint venture established by CATL and Octopus Energy to develop an electric-truck battery-swapping network across Europe. Swaptopus combines CATL's battery and swapping technology with Octopus Energy's energy, flexibility and digital capabilities.
Additional vehicle manufacturers, infrastructure providers, energy companies, logistics partners and investors may participate in individual Green Corridor projects depending on the requirements of each corridor.

Create a repeatable model for European freight electrification
The Green Freight Corridor initiative is intended not only to identify individual pilot opportunities, but also to develop a repeatable methodology for freight electrification.
The cooperation is intended to facilitate the exchange of expertise and insights across relevant areas of logistics, transportation and electrification, while identifying potential opportunities for future collaboration.
Through this initiative, DHL, as CATL's strategic logistics partner, aims to develop and scale sustainable freight solutions across Europe, including CATL's European supply chain operations.
