Recently, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Nanjing Public Transportation (Group) Co., Ltd. in Nanjing. The two parties will start comprehensive cooperation in various areas, especially vehicle aftermarket services, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, an urban battery swap network, and CATL experience center.

As the largest public transport enterprise in Jiangsu Province, Nanjing Public Transportation Group operates 5,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs). Over 95% of its newly added vehicles in the past three years are equipped with CATL's batteries. Through this collaboration, the two companies will fully leverage their complementary advantages in operational scenarios, industry chain resources, and core technologies to focus on the following areas:

V2G: With this technology, vehicles can charge during off-peak demand hours and feed stored electricity back to the grid during peak demand hours. Currently, three vehicle models equipped with CATL's batteries have successfully passed tests and been connected to the grid. In the future, this will strengthen the city's power resilience.

City-Level Battery Swap Network: Building on existing Choco-Swap stations, CATL and Nanjing Public Transportation Group will build "integrated supercharging and battery-swapping stations" and increase parking spaces for superfast charging. With such charging and battery swapping capabilities, they will provide more convenient energy replenishment services for buses and passenger cars to address the issue of limited public energy replenishment resources in core urban areas.

Vehicle Aftermarket Services: Relying on CATL's core technology, the two companies will jointly build a battery testing and maintenance service system to ensure the safe and efficient operation of new energy buses throughout their full lifecycles.

CATL experience center: Both sides will create a comprehensive platform integrating NEV sales, services, energy replenishment, and maintenance, to enrich green travel options for citizens.

This cooperation is a key initiative for CATL to enhance its urban public transport energy services. Through technological empowerment and ecological synergy, CATL will contribute to the establishment of a green, intelligent, and efficient new travel system in Nanjing and support the city's low-carbon transition.
