The European Inventor Award was established jointly by the European Patent Office and the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission in 2006. It is one of Europe's most influential innovation awards, designed to honor outstanding individuals and teams whose innovations address major global challenges.
In 2023, CATL's Chief Scientist Wu Kai and his team won the award in the Non-EPO Countries category for their contributions to lithium-ion battery safety. This dual honor to Brunp Recycling marks another recognition of CATL's R&D strength and innovative spirit by this internationally prestigious award.
