On June 30, CATL and J&T Express signed a strategic cooperation agreement, under which both parties would promote the large-scale deployment of logistics equipment such as electric heavy-duty trucks, light-duty logistics trucks, and electric warehouse forklifts, and build green industrial parks to facilitate the cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and low-carbon transition of the logistics industry.

01 Superfast Battery Swapping for more than 5,000 Heavy-Duty Trucks to Drive More Efficient Logistics
Trunk logistics is fundamentally a race against time. CATL will provide a comprehensive battery swapping solution, battery swapping station infrastructure, and operation and maintenance services for over 5,000 J&T Express heavy-duty trucks. The battery swapping model enables heavy-duty trucks to get back on the road within 3–5 minutes, which significantly shortens the energy replenishment time.
Electrification across the entire logistics value chain from trunk transport and urban distribution to in-warehouse operations can not only significantly improve fleet turnover rates but also deliver significant long-term energy cost savings.
02 Peak Shaving and Valley Filling in Smart Parks to Reduce Electricity Costs
The upgrade to green logistics occurs not only on the roads but also at the crucial hubs—logistics parks.
For the construction of ground complexes within the parks, CATL will provide J&T Express with a full suite of energy storage system products and services. The "peak load shifting" function of the energy storage system—charging when electricity prices are low at night and discharging during daytime peak demand hours—can effectively optimize each park's electricity load and tangibly reduce their operational electricity costs. Meanwhile, the upgrade to new energy within the parks will further assist J&T Express in achieving its carbon reduction targets, so that it will be able to better meet the sustainability requirements amidst decarbonization.
In the future, CATL will continue working with partners to fully accelerate the low-carbon transition of the logistics industry with the integrated vehicle-and-site approach, so as to enable the fast yet cost-effective and green operation of the logistics ecosystem.
