On April 27th, CATL received two testing reports of GB 38031-2025 Electric Vehicles Traction Battery Safety Requirements (New National Standard), making it the first company in the industry pulling off such a feat. The tested products include both battery cells and battery packs.
GB 38031-2025, the updated mandatory national safety standard for power batteries, was released on March 28, 2025, and will be officially implemented on July 1, 2026.
The products submitted for testing were CATL's Qilin Battery, with the testing reports issued by the authoritative third-party certification body, CATARC New Energy Automotive Test Center. Representatives from the Energy System Department of CATARC and CATL's Testing and Verification Center attended the certification ceremony.
The issuance of the first testing reports not only validates the effectiveness and operability of the GB 38031-2025 standard but also recognizes CATL’s leadership in EV battery technologies.
