CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement on zero-carbon city development with Suizhou City, central China's Hunbei Province on May 23. The two sides will focus on in-depth collaboration in areas such as zero-carbon transportation and zero-carbon power, jointly creating a zero-carbon model city characterized by "technology + scenarios + ecosystem," accelerating the green economic transition in Central China, and ushering in a new chapter in the high-quality development of the "zero-carbon economy."
Both sides will work together to build an electric vehicle industry cluster. By introducing high-safety, long-range battery technologies and solutions, they will promote the comprehensive electrification of special-purpose vehicles in Suizhou. In terms of constructing a zero-carbon urban transportation system, both sides will explore scenarios such as drone logistics and the electrification of mining machinery (mining trucks), promote the adoption of battery-swap enabled heavy-duty trucks and a green logistics network, accelerate the replacement of fuel-powered equipment, and establish a benchmark for green urban transportation.
In addition, regarding zero-carbon power system development, CATL will provide an integrated solution for "power generation, grid, load, and storage," facilitating the demonstration and implementation of "zero-carbon factories + zero-carbon industrial parks + zero-carbon communities," and assisting Suizhou in achieving the green upgrade of its energy structure.
Looking ahead, through the empowerment of zero-carbon solutions, scenario innovation, and ecosystem collaboration, the two sides will drive Suizhou's transition from traditional automobile manufacturing to a comprehensive new energy industry chain to create a powerful development engine that "promotes urban development through industry and invigorates industry through urban growth."
