Recently, the signing ceremony for the in-depth strategic cooperation agreement between CATL and SAIC took place in Ningde, Fujian.
Opening up new prospects for cooperation through new products and technologies
According to the agreement, in terms of technical cooperation, CATL will be actively involved in SAIC's R&D, and in empowering its business operation with cutting-edge technologies and products. The two parties will pool efforts to foster new product development, accelerate the market launch of SAIC's vehicles, promote commercial applications on a large scale, and gradually expand the market shares.
Promoting "separation of vehicle and battery" through in-depth cooperation in battery swapping
CATL is considered a preferred partner for SAIC in battery swapping. The two parties will leverage their respective strengths and advantageous resources, where SAIC will concentrate on developing and selling battery-swapping models, while CATL focuses on the development and upgrade of swappable batteries, thus jointly advancing the expansion of the battery-swapping ecosystem and providing consumers with a more convenient electric driving experience.
In addition, the two parties are expecting diversified cooperation in areas such as brand marketing, vehicle and power battery aftermarket service, overseas business expansion, ESG, and joint venture cooperation. The signing of this agreement is bound to further deepen the close and lasting strategic cooperation between the two parties. Based on its advanced new energy technology, CATL will give strong support to the full electrification of SAIC vehicles and will work with SAIC to propel China's automotive industry to new heights.
