NIO, the largest operator of battery swapping for smart electric vehicles in the world, has built and operated more than 2,300 battery swapping stations. As a global leader of new energy innovative technologies, CATL has accumulated many core technologies including slow degradation, artificial SEI film and lithium compensation to extend the service life of batteries.

In this cooperation, CATL and NIO will work on research and development of long service life batteries, jointly tackle key technical problems, promote technical innovations, and accelerate the implementation of long service life battery solutions in battery swapping scenarios. CATL will develop battery system with longer service life to power NIO's upcoming models. Consumers do not have to bear the high cost of replacing EV batteries after the warranty expires or the depreciation of vehicles due to the degradation of EV batteries, and can enjoy better battery swapping services.

CATL will use its own technological advantages to accelerate the research and development of long service life battery products, and work with NIO to accelerate the construction of battery swapping network, actively making technological advancement accessible to all and benefit all.
