CATL Reaches Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Shandong Hi-speed Group to Build a Green Trunk Transportation Network

On September 12, CATL and Shandong Hi-speed Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Wang Qifeng, chairman of Shandong Hi-speed Group, and Dr. Robin Zeng, chairman and general manager of CATL attended the event and witnessed the signing of the agreement. 


As an important provincial state-owned investment company in the infrastructure sector of Shandong Province, Shandong Hi-speed Group is ranked among the Fortune 500 enterprises. Over the recent years, it has made rapid progress in various aspects, with asset size ranking first among all enterprises in the industry nationwide as well as among all state-owned enterprises in Shandong. CATL is a global leader in new energy innovative technologies, with a comprehensive industrial layout in EV batteries, energy storage batteries, battery recycling, and other aspects. It is committed to providing premier solutions and services for global new energy applications through innovations in material and electrochemistry system, structure system, green extreme manufacturing, and business model. The signing is an in-depth practice by both parties in accelerating the green and low-carbon transformation of the industry. 


According to this agreement, both parties will work together in the new energy sector such as battery swapping for heavy-duty trucks and green electricity production. CATL will fully leverage the advantages of innovative technologies and operational models as well as the resource advantages of Shandong Hi-speed Group, so as to create a battery swapping network on expressways, especially on major high-speed trunk lines within the province. 


A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. Starting from the signing of the agreement, CATL and Shandong Hi-speed Group will continue to deepen cooperation to build a green trunk transportation network, accelerating energy transformation in Shandong and promoting the achievement of the national carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals.
