On March 15, 2018, the "Boldness in Business Awards 2017" were bestowed announced by the Financial Times in London, UK. Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), a world-renowned power battery systems and energy storage systems supplier, has won the category of "Developing Markets Award" for its business boldness in addressing challenges and innovation.

The award recognizes companies that have achieved rapid growth in specific markets, overcome market development challenges, and made a significant impact on the regional and international community. It proved that CATL, as a leader in the development and manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries, had blazed an impressive "Green Energy Fast Track" by virtue of its profound technological accumulation and exquisite product innovation, and won recognition on the broader global stage. In its announcement of the prize, the Financial Times stated: "This year's Developing Markets Award has seen a large number of finalists from a wide range of sectors, including agriculture, finance, technology and logistics. For this award, we are committed to recognizing not only companies that have demonstrated business boldness in their local markets, but also those that have shown true business innovation and have taken on tough challenges within the global framework."

Mr. Matthias Zentgraf, CATL's regional president for Europe, attended the award ceremony and delivered a speech. "I would like to thank the judges for your recognition. Since our founding, we have continued to overcome difficulties under the leadership of Dr. Robin Zeng, chairman of the Board of Directors, and grown from a small team to what it is today. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our partners - BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen and local Chinese car brands - for their unwavering support since the early days of the company. As a socially responsible lithium-ion battery company, we will also remain dedicated to our commitment to reducing vehicle emissions in order to alleviate global air pollution," he said.

Established in 2008, the "Boldness in Business Awards" category was created to recognize business innovations that deliver transformative impacts and enterprises bold enough to make breakthroughs from around the world and are renowned for their authoritative selection criteria and global perspective. 2017 marks the tenth anniversary of this award, with previous winners including international business giants such as Amazon, Google, Apple and Bosch, as well as new Chinese enterprises - Alibaba, Tencent and Huawei.
