Sindelfingen, April 6, 2017 – Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL), a global leader in lithium-ion power battery research & development and production, headquartered in China, had a successful kickoff at the Battery Show Europe 2017. CATL is displaying its product portfolio at booth 331, where major OEMs, trade visitors and media can examine the company’s energy storage systems and advanced battery technology solutions for electric vehicles. Hundreds of attendees have visited the booth and learned more about CATL’s key products, which include a 48V pack for mild hybrid powertrain, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) battery system, Battery Management Systems, “EnerSpeedy” fast-charging products and “EnerMagic” large-capacity cell for commercial vehicles, and an Energy Storage System.

“The first edition of the Battery Show Europe and the positive feedback we have received for our product portfolio underlines the increasing relevance and demand for this technology,” said Robert Galyen, CTO of CATL. “Governments and societies are seeing the value and benefits of electric vehicles (EVs) and adoption as well as sales are increasing. Europe is the second largest market for EVs and our recent expansion in Germany reaffirms our commitment to the European market.”

CATL’s expansion into the German market includes sales offices and R&D facilities in Munich and Berlin, demonstrating the company’s dedication to developing a closer connection with customers, drive to offer better tailor-made services and products, and commitment to Germany as a key strategic market in Europe. The expansion also includes collaborating with leading European automotive manufacturers PSA and BMW.

During his keynote, Robert Galyen showcased insights into CATL’s battery production process and shared the company manifesto. “At CATL, we always strive to meet the five golden rules we are committed to. Our products provide maximum safety, great performance in every environment, low costs, and a fairly maintenance-free durability that holds up with the life span of modern cars. Last but not least, as a manufacturer, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously and manage the recycling process of our battery systems from beginning to end.” To meet its environmental responsibilities, CATL is maintaining its own recycling facility.

Together with its customers and partners in the European automobile industry, such as BMW and PSA, the Chinese battery provider plans to take e-mobility to a new level.
