Robin Zeng said that green transformation is a key direction to achieving sustainable development and a powerful engine to promote economic development. CATL continues to promote global low-carbon development with technological innovation, and has established in-depth cooperation with major German automobile enterprises to jointly promote whole-life-cycle solutions of batteries including development, manufacturing and recycling. CATL holds over 30% of the market share of e-bus batteries in Europe, and in the future, CATL will actively work with German enterprises to advance the electrification of public transportation. CATL has carried out wind, solar and energy storage projects and independent energy storage projects in more than 10 countries in the EU, hoping to jointly explore the coordinated development and comprehensive utilization of renewable energies such as wind and solar power with German partners, improve energy utilization efficiency, reduce energy costs, and jointly promote the green transformation of the economy.

According to Robin Zeng, the commitment of CATL to achieving zero carbon goals embodies our sense of responsibility, capability, and the opportunities that lie ahead. CATL is taking measures to reduce the carbon emissions across the battery value chain, and a carbon neutrality plan was unveiled: to achieve carbon neutrality in core operations by 2025 and across the value chain by 2035.

Robin Zeng said that, as a crucial component in achieving the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, EV batteries are emerging as a “cornerstone” in the replacement of old growth drivers with new ones and in the recovery of automotive consumption. He proposed that Chinese and French enterprises continue to deepen cooperation to jointly build a safe, transparent and sustainable supply chain, and CATL hopes to deepen cooperation with French OEMs and energy storage partners, so as to make new and greater contribution to the economic and social development of the two countries and global sustainable development.

Energy transition is not only a challenge, but also an opportunity for green development of the world economy. In the two important meetings, Robin Zeng emphasized that CATL is willing to contribute to the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Germany, as well as China and France, in the field of energy transition and green development, to help global carbon emission reduction and sustainable development.
